  1. How do I make a booking?

  2. What are the formalities to rent a motorcycle?
    a. You must have completed 25 years on the day of renting
    b. A copy of your passport and driving license and any original ID proof like Aadhar/ PAN/Company ID to be submitted
    c. International visitors must have an International driving permit endorsed on their country’s license or must have a valid Indian driver’s license
    d. A refundable security deposit of Rs.10,000 would have to be paid. In case the original passport cannot be submitted, the deposit amount would be Rs.25,000. The same shall be refunded upon safe return of the bike. The amount may vary depending upon the number of days hired and the bike model selected
    e. At the time of vehicle pickup, you would need to sign the vehicle rental agreement that details all the terms and conditions. For a brief on the terms and conditions, you may please check the T&C below

     

  3. Can I drive with my national driving licence or do I need another licence?
    You would need an international driving permit issued by your home country along with your local licence

     

  4. What is the security deposit?
    There is a refundable deposit of Rs 10,000 or Rs 25,000 per motorcycle (based on the above formalities) before commencing the trip. The deposit rates would vary depending on the motorcycle and the number of days hired. This security deposit would be refunded provided the motorcycle is returned to us in the same condition without repairs or damages. In case of any repairs, the vehicle would be checked for at the service station thoroughly and any necessary amount will be deducted from the deposit

     

  5. When should I pay for the motorcycle rental?
    The rental amount has to be paid in full at the time of reservation to secure the booking

     

  6. Can I have the motorcycle delivered to my location?
    Yes, You can have the vehicle delivered at your doorstep for a small fee depending on your location. Please check with us on the cost of pickup and drop before confirming your booking

     

  7. Can I drop the motorcycle at a different location?
    Yes, You can drop the bike at a different location within the city limits but there may be additional charges towards the same

     

  8. Can I hire a motorcycle for long trips?
    Yes, you can hire for longer trips by booking in advance and subject to availability of the motorcycle. We also can customize your tour by providing a suitable itinerary and provide a complete package for your tour. Whether you want to travel solo or in groups, you can contact us and we can personalize your tour

     

  9. How does the insurance work? (Only for tours)
    We provide insurance through a third-party service provider that covers medical expenses for the customer. Insurance coverage would be subject to terms and conditions

     

  10. Can I rent helmets and other safety gears?
    Yes, you can rent a helmet, jacket, gloves and other luggage systems for an additional cost

     

  11. What happens if I cancel my booking?
    a. After a complete reservation, if you wish to cancel the booking, cancellation charges would be applicable as per below. We will try our best to accommodate you on a different date within a month of the date of the ride as per the availability of the vehicle.

    During peak season, all cancellations would be non-refundable and the cancellation policy will not be applicable.
    If in case of a no show after reservation or less than 15 days before the scheduled date of hire – No refund
    16 days to 30 days before the scheduled date of hire – 50% refund
    More than 30 days before the scheduled date of hire – 75% refund

     

  12. Is there any limit on the number of kilometers that I can ride?
    You can ride up to 300 Kms for 24 hours & 150 Kms for 10 hour packages beyond which extra km charges would be applicable as per the rental terms

     

  13. Is a medical certificate to go to high altitude required? (only for tours)
    It depends on your health condition and any specific health issues you might have. In case of doubt, please consult with your doctor before undertaking such travel

Refunds and Cancellation Policy

Off To Ride Rental services:

  • Cancellation: 

If you wish to cancel the booking, cancellation charges would be applicable. We will however try our best to accommodate you on a different date within a month of the date of ride as per the availability of the vehicle. During peak season and holidays, all cancellations would be non-refundable and the cancellation policy would not be applicable

  • Refunds:

 

  • Any cancellation done at the last minute due to non availability of required documents - No refund

  • If in case of no show after reservation or less than one week before scheduled date of hire - No refund

  • One week to fifteen days before scheduled date of hire - 50% refund

  • More than fifteen days before schedule date of hire - 90% refund

Off To Ride Tours :

 

In the event of cancellation of tour / travel services due to any reason(s) we must be notified of the same in writing or email. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive such advice and cancellation charges would be as follows:

 

  • If cancellations are made 30 days before the tour commencement, then 25% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

  • If cancellations are made between 16 days to 30 days before the tour commencement, then 50% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

  • If cancellations are made 0 days to 15 days before tour commencement, then 100% of the tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees. 

  • No show / non completion: If for any reason you do not show up on the day of tour commencement or are not able to complete the tour once started then no refund will be applicable for any reason whatsoever.

 

Apart from the above during the peak season (X-Mas, New Year, long weekend along with festival holidays) no refund shall be possible at any point once your booking is confirmed.

SECTION 4 - PAYMENT

We use Razorpay for processing payments. We/Razorpay do not store your card data on their servers. The data is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) when processing payment. Your purchase transaction data is only used as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is not saved.

 

Our payment gateway adheres to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

 

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

Terms and Conditions

We list below our terms and conditions pertaining to any tour with Off To Ride. Request you to kindly go through them and revert to us for any clarifications.

When you make a booking with OFF TO RIDE, you (the rider / pillion / customer) will come in to an agreement with OFF TO RIDE, in conjunction with the terms and conditions laid out below and signed:

OUR TEAM

We are happy to welcome you on our motorcycle expeditions. Our team will ensure your safety, comfort, good condition of the motorcycles, food and accommodation. A memorable motorcycle tour with us is a guarantee. Your tours are not only guided by a professional crew, but by passionate motorcycle enthusiasts who love what they are doing. We look forward to welcoming you soon!


PRE REQUISITES

  • You participate in a tour with OFF TO RIDE knowing that motorcycle touring in Asia (Bhutan, India, Nepal, Tibet and Sri Lanka) involves a certain amount of risk even as a competent rider and you do so entirely at your own risk.  The security and safe control of your motorcycle while riding, is entirely your responsibility

  • Please ensure that you are medically sound and that all precautionary measures are taken to do the motorcycle tour

  • The rider is required to have geared motorcycle riding experience and is expected to ride with skill, care and confidence.  Although our mechanics maintain the motorcycles, riders are responsible for the safe operation and care of their motorcycles

  • At our discretion, any rider seen taking unnecessary risks en-route will have their journey terminated. Your safety is our primary concern

  • Please conform to the traffic laws and regulations of each region, since the Rider is solely responsible for their own fines, should they occur

  • The Rider / Pillion is responsible for his / her own riding gears and equipment

  • The Rider is fully responsible for the safety of the Pillion
     

  • The following documents are compulsory:
     

    • A valid motorcycle licence

    • A valid International Driving Permit (for riders only and for international licence holder)

    • A valid travel insurance policy which covers your personal health, repatriation, belongings and covers you for riding a large capacity motorcycle

  • Supplementary documents – In addition to the required documents, it is always advisable to bring the following documents with you:

    • Spare passport sized photographs, for permits and SIM card purchases

    • Photocopies of your passport and visa page

    • Important telephone numbers e.g. Credit Card Company contact number (in case of loss or theft)

    • Medical insurance, if not sufficiently covered by your travel insurance

 

BOOKING PROCESS

  • 30% of the payment has to be made within 7 days of booking the tour and the rest 2 – 5 months before the commencement of the tour depending on the location and timeline of the tour

  • A refundable deposit might be required in some cases depending on the location of the travel

  • Once payment is made, the booking confirmation will be sent with all the details of the tour

  • Any bank charges towards international bank transfer / credit card charges will have to be borne by the Rider / Pillion


CANCELLATION

  • If you need to cancel your booking, please do so in writing via email

  • If your cancellation is received:

    • within 1 month of the trip start – 0% of the entire package cost will be returned to you

    • 1 – 3 months prior to the trip start – 50% of the package cost will be returned to you

    • 3 – 5 months prior to the trip start – 70% of the package cost will be returned to you

    • more than 5 months prior to the trip start – 90% of the deposit will be returned to you

    • Please allow a processing time of 2 – 3 weeks for the refund

    • No refunds are given if the tour is terminated early due to fitness issues, dismissal from the tour, or any other reason where the rider is responsible

TOUR AMENDMENT
 

  • In case for any reason there are less number of people for any specific tour, OFF TO RIDE reserves the right to call off the tour or make appropriate changes which will be communicated to the group well in advance

  • In case of any unforeseen weather conditions, political restrictions, bad weather, road closure / blockage or any natural calamity or conditions beyond our control, OFF TO RIDE reserves the right to alter the route or take a detour or provide any suitable alternative. Any additional expenses incurred due to the above will be borne by the Rider / Pillion


FOOD AND BEVERAGES

  • We are very conscious about food and will provide hygienic cuisine on our motorcycle tours

  • Most of our packages will include breakfast and dinner at the place of stay

  • Should you have any special requirement e.g. vegetarian or food allergies, please communicate in advance, so that appropriate arrangements can be made

  • Water bottles are always provided by the backup vehicle during road trips

  • Consumption of alcohol is prohibited before and during ride time especially at high altitudes

 

MOTORCYCLE DEPOSIT
 

  • A safety refundable deposit of Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 is required as a prerequisite prior to the start of the tour. Any damages to the motorcycle are entirely the responsibility of the Rider and should the damages exceed the amount of the safety deposit, OFF TO RIDE reserves the right to claim the costs from the Rider separately. If no damages are incurred your cash deposit will be returned

 

PERSONAL RISK / RESPONSIBILITY

 

  • Wearing protective clothing including a helmet, riding jacket with certified protectors, gloves and knee guards/pants at all times while riding is compulsory

  • You the Rider and/or Pillion are responsible for necessary travel and medical insurance which covers your personal health and belongings. OFF TO RIDE or its partner cannot be held responsible for any injury or loss

  • You should have a travel insurance policy that is sufficient for your personal health / medicinal needs and covers hospitalisation or repatriation

 

 

 

CONDUCT

 

  • We reserve the right to remove you from the tour without notice and refund, should your behaviour in our opinion:

    • Cause annoyance, distress or danger to others in the group or anyone with whom we come in contact during the tour

    • Cause undue damage to motorcycles or places in which we stay

    • Behaves/speaks in a racist manner


WAIVER / RELEASE OF LIABILITY

 

  • The Rider / Pillion agrees to be responsible for their own welfare and assume all of the above including known and unknown risks

  • The Rider / Pillion or his/her families in consideration of the permission granted to take the tour agrees to waive, release and forever discharge OFF TO RIDE, its partners and its team from any form of claims, demands and causes of action of any kind, resulting from or arising out of the tour related to the motorcycle, act of god, or any other cause

The Rider / Pillion fully understands that riding a motorcycle is an activity that has its own inherent risks, notwithstanding the condition of the motorcycle and that serious injury or death may occur
